ADGBR reviews critical road infrastructure in Lohit, LDV

TEZU, Jul 28: In a two-day assessment and monitoring trip, Additional Director General Border Roads (East) P K H Singh, toured Lohit and Lower Dibang Valley districts of the state besides, Doom Dooma in neighbouring Assam from July 25 last.

The ADGBR inspected the ongoing works including several important bridges on the Brahmakund – Arrowa Road on July 26. He also inspected the ongoing works on the Roing – Hunli road which is the lifeline for the Dibang Valley and interacted with the BRO personnel at all the work sites and directed them to expedite the pace of construction while ensuring the highest quality standards despite all challenges.

Besides inspecting the ongoing works, Singh also took stock of the measures being undertaken to ensure early restoration of connectivity following monsoon damages and long term measures being undertaken for disaster management including rehabilitation of slide prone areas and soil stabilization projects.

He also reviewed the progress of inter-valley connectivity projects and measures being taken towards convergence of BRO road construction projects with important national programmes such as MNREGA and PM Gati Shakti.

Before his departure to Guwahati, the ADGBR lauded the contribution of Project Udayak in development of infrastructure in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and urged to maintain the same spirit and tempo being done in connecting the remotest corners of the country to the mainstream.

Earlier, the ADG visited Project Udayak at Doom Dooma on July 25 where, he was briefed by Chief Engineer A K Mishra on the ongoing works in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The ADG interacted with the officers and men of the project and appreciated the work being done to provide connectivity to the far-flung areas of Arunachal.
